Welcome to LPS Preschool!
In Livonia Public Schools, you'll find that our preschool programs are reflective of the myriad other programs throughout our school district ~ we hope that you will find our preschool offerings to be well-structured, academically enriching, welcoming and affordable for your family.
LPS preschool programs are developmentally appropriate activity-based programs for 3- and 4-year-olds. The programs offer a variety of cognitive, art, free play, gross motor, fine motor, music, and social skill components with a thematic approach.
We are so very excited that our preschool programs will be housed at the brand new Livonia Public Schools Early Childhood Center, which is set to open this fall on Newburgh Road, just north of Six Mile! This 70,000-square-foot facility is built from the ground up with the young child in mind. From the welcoming "family rooms" and bright, spacious classrooms to the massive gross-motor activity center where children will enjoy riding trikes, playing and learning new skills with their bodies in motion... the ECC truly has it all!

Three-year-old offerings
- Monday, Wednesday & Friday AM (8:45 - 11:45 AM) or Monday, Wednesday & Friday PM (12:45 - 3:45 PM) $300 per month
- Tuesday & Thursday Full Day (8:45 AM - 3:45 PM) $350 per month
- Monday - Friday, Full Day (8:45 AM - 3:45 PM) $800 per month

CHILD-CENTERED LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

CREATIVE CURRICULUM
- The Creative Curriculum is an evidenced-based curriculum tool which includes developmentally appropriate goals and objectives for children within four main categories of interest: social/emotional, physical, cognitive and language.
- Each classroom is set up for exploration and learning. Children have many opportunities to make choices, experiment, and interact with others.
- Children learn about different topics through studies. Examples of studies include: building, trees, clothing, simple machines, gardening and so many more.
FAMILY FRIENDLY
Our school has an amazing Parent Teacher Association (PTA)!
- Our PTA has historically been a strong group leading the charge to support our littlest learners with engaging experiences.
- Our PTA is a strong supporter of our staff throughout the year.
- Our PTA provides awesome family-friendly events, including:

A Typical Preschool Day
- Student arrival - children learn responsibility for putting belongings away and preparing for the day
- Warm-up Activities - children have a choice of different floor activities to start their day
- Group time - calendar/weather/letter/number
- Project time - children move freely to different table activities/center areas
- Imaginative Play & Creative Arts
- Language Arts
- Math / Numeracy Centers
- Science and Social Studies Explorations
- Story Time/Movement- opportunities for outside and gym times
Criteria for Admission

Children are required to be potty-trained. The Preschool Enrichment program runs from September through June.
How to Register
- Registration is completed online using our automated online billing and registration program.
- Enrolled families will also utilize our online payment system.
- Non-Refundable Registration Fee:
- $100 Registration fee for the first child registered (for 2024-25 school year)
- $65 Registration fee for each additional child registered (for 2024-25 school year)
- First tuition payment is due at registration
Registration Dates
Registration links will go live at 6 AM on the following dates:
- Preschool - Returning Families: March 5, 2024
- Preschool - LPS Staff: March 6, 2024 (must use LPS email address)
- Preschool New Families- March 7, 2024
Current childcare families seeking full-day preschool programs with before and after care, previously called childcare, will now register on March 5, 2024 with returning Preschool families.
New families seeking full-day preschool programs with before and after care, previously called childcare, will now register with new preschool families on March 7, 2024.
