January News
New Year Flags.png
Our themes for the month of January are all about the Winter wonderland we live in and the animals that live in the Arctic. We will discover snowy activities from different perspectives.
We will visit each of the childcare classrooms where the teachers will share their favorite winter stories with us. We will celebrate Michigan's birthday by building lighthouses, paint rocks to look like Petoskey stones, dance to Rockin Robin and eat a Michigan made fun lunch (ballpark franks, Bettermade chips).  We will simulate how polar bears stay warm, discover the real colors of a snowy owl, create penguin polar pals and hear the barking of walruses.
The Music Lady comes to Jackson at the end of the month. Our scheduled day is on Tuesday, January 29th at 10:45. This activity is brought to us by the fabulous PTA!
Teachers will begin working on developmental assessments of each student.  Parent-teacher conference will be offered.  The date is TBD. More info to come.
Reminders:
Please send snowpants & boots daily in a separate bag (or leave on child's hook). We go outside daily 20+ degrees.
Please send gym shoes daily. We go to the gym/gmr daily.
