April Newsletter Tuesday/Thursday a.m.

Dear Families,                                                                       2018

Happy April!  We hope everyone has a wonderful Spring Break.  We are enjoying the beginning of spring and look forward to many opportunities to go outside!  We will also be busy with many springtime activities this month.  As always, these activities engage the children and encourage creativity while practicing many skills.  We also work on developing our fine motor skills while playing with playdough, cutting, sorting, picking up items with tongs and playing.

April is the Month of the Young Child (recognized by the color purple) where we celebrate Early Childhood and the importance of quality early childhood programs.  Thank you for your continued support!   Jackson Early Childhood Center is celebrating by wearing purple on April 12 and April 26.  Feel free to have your child wear purple to school on these days.

A PTA sponsored program called “The Music Lady” is coming to Jackson ECC on Thursday, April 12th.  Thank you PTA!

The next PTA meeting is Thursday, April 12th at 7 p.m. in the staff  lounge.  They will be holding elections for officers for next year.  Please consider attending and participating in this important group that does so many wonderful things to support our students!

We will be having our school’s “Purple Parade” on Thursday, April 26th at 10:00 am.  If the weather is nice we will parade outside.  Feel free to come and watch our parade!  If the parade is indoors, due to inclement /cold weather, the parade is only for the students due to space limitations.

As the days get warmer, we will continue to go outside whenever possible.  I also encourage you to go outside and let your children play and explore.  They learn and grow by interacting with their world and other children in an unstructured way.  Physical growth and development is the foundation for future learning so go have fun with them as they run, skip, jump and climb!

Have Fun!
